5 Uncommon Resolutions

5 Uncommon Resolutions

It’s not shameful to admit that you’re sick and tired of having the same resolutions every single year. You’re grasping for something original!

I’m here to help with that. Instead of talking about diet, weight loss, exercise, and money, let’s get creative.

Read on to hear some fun and unusual resolutions. Who knows, maybe you’ll get inspired to try some out!

5. Bring your partner a bouquet of flowers every month

Sending your partner flowers each month is such a thoughtful and romantic gesture! He or she will get swept off their feet.

Not only do flowers exude a sweet aroma, they will make a gorgeous centerpiece to your dining room table. Whether you want it to be a surprise or something to look forward to each month, you can never go wrong with flowers!

If you want you can even learn a few flower arranging tricks to make each vibrant bouquet stand out.

4. Experiments

Conduct a few interesting experiments. What would happen if you talked to five strangers this week? You might consider investigating the results of waking up thirty minutes earlier each day.

Would you meditate, go for a walk, cook a healthy breakfast, or engage in something creative? These creative experiments may end up being incredibly enjoyable.

3. Stretch your body each evening

Lightly stretching your body can feel so soothing. It will help relieve stress, improve posture, and decrease muscle stiffness.

Becoming more flexible is a fun challenge that takes patience and dedication. If you exercise often, your body will thank you for allowing it to stretch.

Look up a few evening stretches that will help relax you and prepare you for a deep sleep.

2. Creative cross-training

If you’re someone who is highly creative, you’re probably practicing your craft of choice as often as possible, right? Has anyone ever told you to try out a different craft from time to time?

Engaging in a different form of creativity can benefit you! In the same way that Olympic swimmers need to cross-train, you do as well. Every now and then, these athletes will get out of the pool and lace up their running shoes.

Instead of writing, pick up an instrument. If you’re a dancer, try painting once this week. It may not come naturally, but you may find that it helps strengthen your creative muscles.

1. Download a new song every day

At the end of the year you’ll have 365 songs to pump you up! Talk about a great playlist.

Choose all of your favorite songs and compile an epic playlist. Share it with your friends as well.

They’ll want to get in on the fun. It can seem daunting to create a big playlist before a trip, but if you do one song per day, it’s completely manageable.

------------

These are not your everyday resolutions! Did you see anything related to money, body image, or quitting an unhealthy habit such as smoking? Nope.

I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that these are the most common New Year’s resolutions. While they may be worthy endeavours, you’re looking for something uncommon.

I hope  one or more of these creative resolutions resonates with you! Best of luck!
